What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine with its roots in ancient India. The term Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit words ayur (life) + Veda (science or knowledge), thus translating to the knowledge or science of life.
It is based on the idea that disease occurs due to imbalance or stress in a person’s body & consciousness. Ayurveda takes an organic approach that focuses on guiding you to live a happy, healthy, and long life.
There is great emphasis on the importance of restoring and maintaining health by attaining balance in the body, mind + consciousness with the assistance of cleansing practices, diet, lifestyle, & herbal remedies.
Every individual is seen as unique in mind, body, and spirit, therefore each Ayurvedic remedy is catered to the individual. Treatments are personally designed to take advantage of the body’s natural healing capabilities, aiming to restore health and get to the root cause of symptoms and imbalance.
